If you’re trying to go the distance on a skid stop, you may be interested in checking out this footage on YouTube. It appears to be of a bike competition last year with the winner skidding over 500 feet!

Take a virtual ride with a NYC bike messenger
Today I stumbled upon this footage of bike messengers riding around Manhattan – with traffic, against traffic, around it, over it, through it.. If you’ve got 7 minutes, it’s fun to watch. Note: several of the riders are coasting, so they’re not all on fixies.
